It is made of extemely tough plastic which you would think would melt with hot cig butts going in. But no! It has a METAL bucket in the bottom to catch the butts. It doesn't need sand either as this design snuffs the butt out by restricting air to it.You can add sand to the unit to help stabilize it in windy areas and to keep the table top more steady.Really cleans up the smoking area. No more cigarette butts all over the ground! Very easy to clean. Just empty metal pail and drop back into bottom.Very easy to assemble, no screws or other hardware and certainly no tools needed.
